Established in 1906, the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCCI) has undergone an architectural rejuvenation by SCDA, merging its rich heritage with modern design. The renovation introduces a new rear block with a concave fritted glass façade, contrasting with the conserved historic front. The expanded grand lobby, redesigned to symbolize prosperity, features a ceiling inspired by ancient Chinese gold coins, with concentric circles and warm lighting. The top floor, remodeled to include the council chamber and a members’ lounge beneath a conserved temple roof, exemplifies the blend of contemporary and historic elements, reflecting SCCCI’s legacy.
