SCDA constantly pushes boundaries with initiatives that inspire new ways of creating, thinking and living on our finite, green and blue planet.

Tenda Initiative

The Tenda (Bahasa for tent), designed by SCDA, is an ecologically sensitive retreat in Kelating village, near Soori Bali. It features modular, self-sustaining cabins that emphasize off-grid living. Each cabin, inspired by modernist and deconstructed architectural forms, incorporates eco-friendly systems like solar panels, a water storage system, and a composting toilet. The design includes a sliding roof for natural ventilation and rainwater collection. The cabins are sheathed in local timber screens and can be reconfigured or relocated as needed. The Tenda aims to demonstrate how modern architecture can harmonize with nature and support sustainable living practices.
