Soori Niseko is a low-scale resort in Upper Hirafu, Hokkaido, capturing the essence of the popular skiing destination. The building gently slopes towards the ski slopes, creating terraces with views of Mount Yotei and the village. The design includes a central lobby with a fireplace, a ski-in/ski-out lounge with lockers, and a bistro café with an outdoor terrace. The façade combines dark metal, wood, and warm terracotta, reflecting a traditional hideaway feel. Vertical slot windows enhance views while solid panels minimize reflection. Interiors are flexible and crafted with Japanese attention to detail, balancing simplicity with the surrounding natural beauty.
